Quy Hoi Tinh Nguoi Zen Monastery: Our History and Current Status

The history of the Quy Hoi Tinh Nguoi Zen Monastery began in 1998 with the acquisition of land in Deeral, Cairns, marking the foundational steps of the Vo Vi organisation in Australia. Under the guiding vision of Master Luong Si Hang, this land was entrusted to the newly established Vo Vi International Pty Ltd (VVI) and the Vo Vi Charitable Trust (VCT). This laid the structural and spiritual groundwork for community development through the practice of Pháp Lý Vô Vi Khoa Học Huyền Bí Phật Pháp (The Dharma of Vovi Esoteric Science Buddhism). Concurrently, the community undertook dedicated fundraising and intellectual property protection efforts, navigating various logistical and management challenges during the initial phases of construction.

Over the years, the organisation navigated significant transitions, most notably following the passing of Master Luong Si Hang and Mr. Le Tan Quoc. Subsequent changes in leadership and trusteeship led to complex legal disputes regarding property and governance rights. In the spirit of complete transparency and to safeguard the organisation’s original intent, these matters were carefully resolved through the justice system. On 15 March 2024, the court provided a definitive resolution, legally affirming VVI as the sole and rightful trustee of the Vo Vi Charitable Trust. This landmark ruling has restored absolute clarity, consistency, and integrity to the management and stewardship of the Trust’s assets.

The Quy Hoi Tinh Nguoi Zen Monastery, which was officially inaugurated in 2014, remains a profound milestone in our history and a sanctuary for spiritual cultivation. Despite enduring periods of adversity and protracted legal challenges, the unwavering solidarity of our practitioners and their devotion to the Dharma of Non-Action (Vô Vi) have guided the organisation through its difficulties. Today, moving forward with renewed unity and structural integrity, the organisation remains steadfast in its mission. We continue to uphold our 10 core principles, strictly dedicated to spreading the profound spiritual values of the Dharma of Vovi Esoteric Science Buddhism for the benefit and evolution of all.
